Obi Felten Bio

Obi is Director of Consumer Marketing at Google, which sounds like the easiest job in the world until you consider that Google launch hundreds new product features a quarter across search, Chrome, maps, mobile and social.

Thanks to her and her multi-national team’s efforts, many more Europeans now know what a browser is and use Chrome, mobile users from England to Russia to South Africa search by talking to their phone, and the Germans tried out and got to like StreetView. As her 20% project Obi works on developer and startup projects, helping Google make a positive contribution to the tech startup scene in EMEA.

Before joining Google, Obi set up the ecommerce arm of jewellery retailer H.Samuel, worked as a strategy consultant and launched online toy start-up eToys in the UK and Germany eToys experiencing the 99-01 dotcom boom/bust first hand.

Obi grew up in Berlin with a short stint in upstate New York, went to university in Oxford and lives in London with her husband (a beekeeper) and young son (a pirate).

Tonight's event will begin with drinks/networking at 6.30 followed by talk/discussion from 7 - 8pm and then more drinks/networking till 8.30/9pm.
